BRC Food
Standard is a standard established by the British
retailers in 1998 for the purpose of providing a minimum
hygiene standard in food production facilities.
BRC Certification has a broad scope including Quality,
Hygiene and Product Safety, and is one of the most
important requirements for entering the British markets.
BRC Standards comprise of:
- BRC Food– Food
- BRC/IoP– Packaging
- BRC CPS – Consumer Products
- BRC Storage and Distribution – Storage and
Distribution
- BRC Non GM – Non-GMO Products.
In the year 2003, BRC Food standard has been accepted as
an approved standard by the GFSI (Global Food Safety
Initiative), and published as the latest updated version
5 ‘Global Standard for Food Safety’.
